Why spell check just isn't enough.

In case you needed another reason to edit, edit, and edit some more, here's one from my Publisher's Lunch email:

"As for the strangest and most embarrassing international news story, Penguin Australia reprinted 7,000 copies of the PASTA BIBLE due to a horrible typo. A recipe mistakenly called for 'salt and freshly ground black people' instead of 'pepper.'"

Teehee.

That is AWESOME. Copy edit much?

Also, Laura swears on her life that our book will not have a single typo in it. She plans on reading it over and over and over again until she catches EVERYTHING. I just laugh at her.

LOL, I read this yesterday on Pub lunch and had to laugh, especially when they said no one could be as mortified over the mistake as they are. Somehow, I highly doubt that, since they're not recalling the typo'ed books.
